This is an update of my blend file "Bathroom Cycles".
This one does not crash the current version of Cycles, tested with the official 2.61 version.
However fine tuning of the textures in "Bathroom Cycles 2" is still needed for reaching the same result as the one obtained with "Bathroom Cycles".
Remember: Textures have to be unpacked: File ; External Data ; Unpack
Very useful upload! I was just experimenting with cycles trying to create plastic material and used almost the same setting as you, just made glossy BSDF more rough. The tiles material looks great, I like the displacement map. The ceramics material should be less rough in my opinion. And I see the same problem I had with luxrender - bounces inside the sink multiply the light, so it's very bright (at least that's my reasoning of this phenomenon). Is the picture posted here rendered with 2500 samples? Great job overall, thanks for this upload.
Thanks for your comment !
Yes indeed, this picture has been rendered with 2500 samples. The few remaining white pixels have been removed with GIMP. I agree, a good ceramic material for the sink is quite difficult to obtain.
Hmm, with the latest release build (2.61) when I go to 'unpack into files' it tells me that there are 'no packed files'. Would love an update if you have the time.
Hi Blazer003, An update has been uploaded today. Now it should be OK.
Hello,
I've tried to render your project but the scene is quite dark. For the result above what setting have you changed? Have you increased the mesh light power, moved down near to the roof, etc. I'll appreciate if you share this info.
Hello, None of the settings has been changed.
If the textures are not unpacked (see comment above in the description), the rendered scene is quite dark indeed since the tiled floor and the tiled walls then appear black.
Please try to unpack the textures and you should get the same result as above.
Jeez! I thought that was a photo! Great work!
