Description:

Compositor nodes to create a watercolor effect in Cycles. The effect needs noise, usually ten samples for render are enough. It works even with Blender Internal if you add noise to the render (there is a node to do that included).

The file contains only the node groups and shows four ways to setup the nodes:

Cycles Base: general purpose setup.

Cycles Coffee: coffee painting setup.

Cycles Complex Scenes: setup for complex/crowed scenes (eg Agus3D's island).

Blender Internal: setup with noise node for BI.

I'm facing difficulties in using the Node Setup and -since I'm not very experienced- I would appreciate some help.

In my .blend after I enable "Use Nodes" in my Compositor the "Render Layers" and "Composite" Nodes appear. Then I append the Node Setup from the Watercolor_node.blend and after that I add the group I want. Let's say I want to use the first Cycles Base setup.

I import the Watercolor_color node and then add it. The problem is that the Node Setup in the Watercolor_node.blend has a different "Render Layers" node than mine. The latter doesn't have Normal and Diffuse Color outputs, nor does it have the Color option in the drop down list at the bottom of the node (mine just has RenderLayer).

I can't figure out how I can actually use the Node setup.

    Thanks in advance
