Description:

A rigged four-stroke engine model.

This was a demo model from my new e-Book ("Death to the Armatures").

Since this was a "training model", there are several... uh... discrepancies between this and a real engine:) Still, everything works more or less correctly, including valve timing, piston movement, etc.

CC0. Enjoy!

I read through half the book last night; great stuff. On a side note, I might recommend you change the image for this blend, as I saw the ad for the book several times before I realized what it was - I passed over it at first, thinking it was just a link to this blend. Anyway, this is fantastic.

    Thanks... glad you like it:)

I thought of doing a different image for the Blend... but before long the preview will disappear into the back pages (as people upload new stuff). I think it should be okay...

    Thanks for posting!

Looking through your file was a great way for me to learn how constraints work. Even though it's all set up, I have to look through and figure it out myself - which is better for my learning process.

It even leaves me with a sort of homework assignment of figuring out how to make the valves move right along the edge of the cams.
