The glass is in two parts, one from which you drink and one for holding the glass, while you are not drinking. For the scene setup I have used the blend "Wine is served" shared by blendswap user Luano. The carafe is my own design, but pretty ordinary I guess. It is just used for illustration.
The wood texture I have used for the tabletop in the scene can be found at this website: Textures.com, and it can be downloaded and used for free in the low-resolution version, I have used. The ID for the file is WoodFine0001_1_S.jpg. Use the "Generate"option rather than the "Unwrap" one.
Thanks for the comment!
The problem, you mention, is in fact one I have inherited from the blendswap blend from which I have I have taken the scene setup "Wine is served" shared by blendswap user Luano. I had just the same difficulty when I downloaded this, but it was quickly and easily overcome by changing the (false/missing) file reference to a texture file I had already downloaded, and which I think looks rather nice, although a lot of alternatives might work just as well..
What I will do is right away including a reference to this file in the blend description.
I would quite like some expert advice about how to make sure, that all necessary files are automatically included and referenced correctly in submitted blends (assuming there are no copyright restrictions to take into consideration)
File > External data > pack all into.blend and this packs all the textures and files that you have used in your design. However the missing file in this could easily be replaced it is not difficult to find a wood texture, this is a cool scene nice lighting too.
I believe I have already done this and then replaced the original version with an updated one. Thanks anyway!
The wood texture for the table top is missing - shows as purple when rendering. If you can't distribute the texture, it would be better to substitute one of the many available wood procedurals, or, since the wood isn't the focus, just a solid color. I prefer that, if a texture is omitted, that this be noted in the description, with a link to where the texture can be found, and a substitute texture used in the submission.
