Karosa C734, Czech bus, and I fell in love with it. So I made it for fun. (Preview video)
Fairly detailed model, but nothing high-poly. It can be viewed real-time with no subsurf modifiers still offering good amount of detail. Even possible to use in games, as all the textures are baked.
USING THE RIG:
Warning:
The rig is intended for use on FLAT SURFACES. It is possible to work with slight height differences, as I showed in my animation. However the physics usually go crazy, and then it requires lots of hand animation and troubleshooting. Use the rig on uneven/bumpy surfaces only at your own risk.
Edit the "Path" curve to represent the path you want the vehicle to take
The video looks great. (I've been a busdriver for a couple of years.) I probably would pay money for this, but it is not really a 'style' what you see in my country.
I would've bought this if you sold them as a pack containing atleast 3 different bus designs(Under 40$).
Absolutely masterpiece! and if you would say, you made it with CATIA, then I could ... believe it :) BTW: when watching the movie - I guess, google car technology still needs some more work ;) Your donation encouraged me also to get back to my old bus project, which I abandoned five years ago. I will try to finish it soon (not much work to do) and share it with the community.
Would I pay for such a project? Well, if grabcad.com would be inactive ...
Thanks! I'm looking forward to your project. There aren't that many buses on Blend Swap, so I bet everyone will appreciate it. :)
I think you could sell this with some more fine-tuning of the rig and physics, and also the seats inside look a bit flat (although that might just be me; the buses I've seen where I live are a bit different.) But the quality is good enough to justify selling it--I just think people would be more likely to buy it with some small tweaks for realism.
Is this thing game raedy? (baked?) If it is, I think people would buy it (25$ or something).
Ok, thanks. Yea it is baked (AO and other stuff). I'm used to real-time rendering, which is probably a really bad habit, if I wanted to make something a bit more realistic.
Yeah, I'd sell it if I made it. Anything that people buy is good enough to sell. So if you make no money, maybe it's not ready to sell or there is no market for it. If it does sell, then BAM! It's good enough!
I've made a few hundred dollars on the Blender Market myself.
Currently using custom properties for animations means it does not support linking and animations (when you create a proxy of the armature it only updates bones). A better solution is to add bones in the armature and animate them.
Well, ok, didn't know that. It makes sense, supposing people will want to link the blend to their existing projects. Though it sounds a bit more time consuming to animate bones and base all the drivers on physical values (bones' location etc.), I guess it's worth it.
I'll do in future projects.Thanks. :)
Any chance you could do this bus? I'd love to see it!: https://desertbus.org/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/desertbus-taylorwindham.jpg
Lol, maybe if it was for the charity donation thing. But otherwise, I don't really have the time.
Just. For. Sure. The main law of sales - model will be sold if it is hardly needed. And then price is not matter.
Look at this. It was sold

Is it okay if I use this in a youtube video? I wanna make a little test with the bus being chased by police cars through a city, crashes and stuff...
Sure!
You don't need to ask. Just look at the license. I published this under CC-BY, so you just need to me credit me for the model, but you can do whatever you want with it.
Definitely link me the finished video when you're done though! I'd love to see it. :)
Could I use it in a game I'm making? I'm crediting everything in the credits.
physics based rigs are the best I have tried rigging cars with the tank rig method but failed now I can finally learn how to do it the proper way
the rig is pretty confusing I animated evaluation time but it keeps glitching like moving around everywhere I even tried baking rigid body
Nice! This one used to take me to school, when i was much younger... Thanks
