This is a (hopefully) photorealistic light bulb rendered with Luxrender. The HDRI map and the wooden texture are not included with the .blend, but the texture for the stamp on the bulb itself is included as it was made by me. The tiny coil that produces light is actually modeled and is clearly visible if rendered in higher resolutions.
Feel free to leave your comments below and to use this model for whatever purpose you like.
Well, perhaps my glasses are not telling me the truth. I took a look of the blend and I saw any spiral. But, don't be worried, it's a good render.
Everytime I try to render, a BI window pops up and renders nothing, but my Luxrender works fine usually. Suggestions? Thx
Well you should check the lights and if their normals point to the right direction (this stuff matters in Lux). Also, I'm pretty sure it tries to render to a non-existent output dir. The output directory I used is hardcoded in the .blend file and it may not exist on your machine. Just change it to something else and try again. Let me know if that works. ;)
Nice model although to achieve a "real realism" the thread should be a spiral, not circles. Thanks for sharing.
