a model of the android kitkat.
decent Blender internal materials. so will look fine there
cycles materials are not very chocolate like unfortunately..
will update when i figure that out.
was a hurried model :) based off of angled shots people took at the unveiling. couldnt get a close look at the antennae at the time.. infact this is my second version already with the logo itself..
decided to wait a bit before i update it. so i have final pics by then. your right about the gap between the arms/legs and the body.. although they probably had to make it that close in the real model so it would stand on its own :)
anyway will make the changes in the next few days
no :) infact i heard about it almost half a day after it happened. was a busy day at work.. got home and found it on a tech site.
You just got featured on Gizmodo. LOL,<a href="http://gizmodo.com/some-brilliant-idiot-made-the-andriod-kit-kat-logo-in-3-1253219839" target="_blank">Gizmodo</a>
Wow! This is great! 5/5 for originality! If staff picks were chosen plainly on originality then this would have been chosen the second it was made! :)
actually their quality control guidelines are pretty strict.. i had a feeling this would get rejected. i've been rejected before for submitting models that were not upto the standards :)
anyway hope you enjoy the model :)
LOL you were quick off the mark with this model.
Where did you get your reference image from?
Comparing your model with the outdoor giant statue image at http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/09/03/android_4_4_kitkat/, the statue's antennae are like strips, whereas yours are circular and thin.
And you should close up the spaces showing between the body and the arms, head and feet. They are all meant to be joined like a complete bar of chocolate, so when viewed from the back it is all in one piece, and you would then break off the arms, head and feet.
