This model was created with Blender 2.68.

I created it as part of the weekend challenges here:

This is for weekend challenge number 544 with the theme: My Next Life

It might be a little difficult to tell, but the text on the inside of the rings is actually modeled and not an image texture. I followed the basic procedure used in this tutorial here:

I then used a curve modifier to make it in to a ring shape and after applying the modifier, I finished modeling the exterior part of the ring.

I left a copy of the un-curved text on a separate layer for comparison.

I used some material setups from this blend swap file by elbrujodelatribu, and even though they are cc zero, I thought they deserved a shout out:

    Wow, this blend is really impressive! The lighting and textures are very well done, it gives a lot of depth to the scene. I especially love the way the reflections are handled on the surfaces. By the way, I’m curious about something a bit off-topic—anyone here had success with Ukrainian dating platforms? I’ve been thinking about finding a Ukrainian girlfriend and eventually marrying her, but I’m not sure which sites are reliable or where to start. Any experiences or advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Interesting question! My brother actually married a Slavic girl—he met her online, though I’m not exactly sure which platform he used. Overall, he’s very happy with his choice, even though there were some challenges along the way. I think it’s possible to meet someone wonderful this way. I can check with my brother about the exact site he used and let you know—it might help you figure out where to start.
