Finished a might bit early, I spent a lot of time on it, and I'm happy with the result! :D Let me know if there's anything I should change, and I will soon add text to the keyboard, or something else I should model! I think this is my best so far, and thank you poifox for telling me to do this!!! :D You were right! Like I said I will soon put letters on the keyboard, and mabye add a mouse or something. :) Hope you like it!!!

Good job, kiddo, excellent progress! Still lots to learn but you're off to a good start. The power cord is very nicely done as well :)
How about more details for an update? like the ventilation grid and more ports and maybe even those rubber pads underneath.
SOOOOO Glad you Like It!!!!!! :D And I'm currently working on something, then I'll update my laptop. I'll message you and let you know what it is!!! :D Thanks Again!!!
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!!! Comments like yours show me I'm making Progress!!! Thanks Again!!!
Well done. This is a great job! You said you were going to add letters to the keyboard, I know a cool way to do this if you would like I can point you towards the idea. But all in all really good.
WOW! Soooooo Glad you like it!!! And yes......Please tell me how to add letters :D Sorry I saw this so late... I haven't been on here much since the site went down...I recently started on CG Trader :D And I won their Last Weekly Challenge! Thanks for your compliment!!!!!! :D
Congrats on winning the weekly challenge man. That's awesome. Now, adding letters to the keyboard. In the add mesh panel you'll find the add text option. Add this, go into edit mode, type the perspective letter for the key your going to put the letter on. I downloaded the blend so I know that your keyboard is one object. You'll want to name the keyboard-keyboard so that its easy to find in the drop down list (getting to that). Once you've type your letter leave edit mode and carry the text object over to the key, re-size until its the size that you want. Be as relatively close to the keyboard as you can be. Then go into the modifiers tab, add shrinkwrap to the text object and where it says target put your mouse over the empty space underneath and click to bring up the drop down menu. It shows all of the objects in your scene. That was why I recommended naming your keyboard so it's easy to find. Select it and the letter will as the modifier suggests shrinkwrap to the keyboard over the key that you placed it on top of. I would then suggest that you set the offset in the shrinkwrap modifier to .010 so that it sits just above the key. Duplicate the text object slide it over the next key, enter edit mode and type the next letter perspectively. Repeat. I'm sure that there are easier ways of doing this but I used this technique when I did the drill.
WOW! I'll try, but I won't make any guarantees....
PS: You should get on YouTube and make tutorials....I'D BE THE FIRST TO SUBSCRIBE!!!! :D
Thanks but I'm still too new to do anything like that. At any rate good luck with the lettering on the keyboard. I think you'll do fine with it. You have done some great modelling on the laptop already.
Ive made a textured version of his model, its on my blend page. He asked me to texture it for him, just remember its still his model so give him most of the credit.
LOL! Hey watch out on my page for a rigged rifle! :D I've already liked it so you may be able to access it on my like page :) Not sure though :(
Nice :) I decided to download this and try blenderjunky's tut on how to add letters. I actually copied his post and saved it in notepad lol. Great model by the way.
Oh, boy, I really do need to update this! LOL! Wow! Oh and BlenderJunky I now know what you're talking about XD I was such a noob then!!! :D
Yeah because everybody becomes an expert after 6 months with Blender... lol. Hindsight will keep revealing your past n00bness like this all the time, just wait a couple more years and you'll see that even what you know now will be nothing compared to your future expertise. It happens with every single skill you learn.
I was such a n00b... Still am :P LOL! Hey Poifox... Check out my current gallery please: http://joeyblendhead.deviantart.com/ Let me know what you think :)
That's really good mate! I think it needs a bit more texture though, I could do that if you want.
