Stylized rope and knots for decoration or anything. Made for rendering in cycles.
The rope can easily be modified to extend its length, see object Rope which is hidden. The rope knots are guided by curves.
It uses SSS in cycles so it is CPU-rendering only for the moment
Cheers! :D
3rd one over from the left is a regular square knot, and a GOOD one at that. :D Looks like something you'd learn in the Boy Scouts :)
yeah, square knot = reef knot = first-aid knot.. :D i learnt that in Boy Scouts
You went to the boy scouts? My dad did, and he taught me everything he knew :) That doesn't mean I remember it all though! :) LOL! :D
The "unknowns" going from left to right in the picture are figure-8 (or stopper knot) and Flemish bend (a variation of doubled figure-8).
Now here's a modeling theme you don't see on Blend Swap very often. Nicely done.
Absolutely brilliant and useful. Curve guide is something that I seem to have trouble with though I have had little need to practise using it. This definitely motivates me to learn more about it.
I think its great that people like yourself are willing to create these blends and have the selfless thinking of letting people use it without giving you credit. Great work, thank you so much :)
Brilliant models. But how do you move/duplicate them without them going crazy and being unraveled?
you're lucky I just happened to notice your message here, I hardly ever check blendswap anymore :/ Anyways, you should move the curves the ropes are deformed by as well as the rope object.
okay, wait, Half Knot, Reef Knot, Unknow knot, Sheet bend, unknown knot
But everything is superb! And I think it's a really good way of using curve guides and the screw tool :)
