I really wanted to do this to see how it would turn out. Basically used a dirt vertex map thingy.

P.S This is done in the 2.7 preview, and their is no option for it under "blender version" so it may or may not be backwards compatible. If it isn't then I'll do a 2.69 version.

To use this shader on your own objects as intended, your objects will need a vertex color "dirt map."

    1. With the object selected, switch from object mode to vertex paint mode.
    2. Bottom of the 3D View editor, select the menu item Paint and select Dirty Vertex Colors. Depending on complexity, it may take a while to process. Left 3D View side panel will let you mess with options for it. You must be in at least textured view to see the vertex colors.
    3. Then in the Properties editor, select Data, and down in Vertex Colors rename the default "Col" to "Dirt" so it interacts with the shader.
    4. Apply the shader, and viola.
