i simply CANNOT get the volumetrics to work here, i even tried replicating your setup, any help please? Or at least is there a tutorial for this yet?
Cycles 2.7 >> Add Cube >> Add a Volume Scatter shader in Volume material slot >> Set Density to .1 >> Set Homogeneous Volume >> In Render Settings, under Volume Sampling, set to Equi-Angular >> Place camera OUTSIDE the cube. Put any light inside the cube and you get volumetric

yeah, I really like the box scatter setting..it allows us to concentrate the volumetric only on one place, thus reducing noise and being fast! superb idea!
