This file has been through 3 different programs, but 90% of the work was done in Blender, so I guess it still qualifies for this website. I wanted to put a stormy, wind/particle background, but no matter what I did, it washed out the forground. If you know a way to do a background for this peice, then feel free to contact me. There are no animations on this model, since the shattered man himself if not a blender particle system, but one object.
As far as the story of this peice, I wanted to make sure that the face was just solid enough to make out features, but not solid enough for it to be identified. I wanted it to look like it could be anybody. He is watching his own hand, the last solid part of his body. He is aware of his own dissapearence, but he makes no move to stop it. Is he scared, does he even care anymore? We can't tell because his face is hidden. Mayhap he is even willing this dissapearence upon himself.
His stance is relaxed, contemplative. Mayhap he is reliving his own life before his death. Mayhap he knows that he is not dying, but becoming something else, and he wants one last glimbs of his mortal body before it is lost forever.
Absolutely impressive! ..and inspiring! This is so beautiful, I will have to delve deeper into particle effects and create similar things myself. Thanks!
Absolutely amazing!!! Is there any chance of tutorial on the basic idea how to achieve this type of look ? I admit i am a beginner but , damn i want to create stuff in similar style .
I would like to make a short video i have in mind with similar style ..
Damn, this is quite impressive, actually not just impressive but rather amazing really. If it isn't too much to ask, could you quickly summarize the workflow of this piece? I am rather interested in how you achieved the shattered look.
made a biped in blender, posed him, unrigged him, then exported to max. in max I used 3 meshbombs for the turbulant scatter, then exported back to blender to add particles, texture, and lighting. whole thing was about a day's worth of work. Sorry it took so long, haven't been on this site in a while.
WOW
