Description:

Inspired by a tutorial on youtube I tried to create some fruit on a napkin. Lemons and orange. The napkin is just an image, worked a little bit, it is not a blender object. I would like to work more on it but it would be too much for my underpowered laptop.

Next time I would try to do a banana and apple/pears. It is way more tricky.

If you have any comments please give me your feedback. Criticism is always welcome for a beginner.

That lemon half looks good enough to eat. You must have used a virtual sharp knife to get a nice clean cut ^^

The peel texture is good and the calyx (where the stem was) on the orange is realistic.

You asked for feedback, so I would suggest a dark stain on the napkin in front of the lemon to represent leaked juice. Just a few spots will do to add realism. Try slicing a real lemon and laying it down on a light coloured cloth (not white), so the spots show up.

Thanks for your feedback. Good idea for the dark stain !!! You are right about the spot, I'll try to add more.

This is fruiterrific. I'm using it to build a demo of 3D spin-arounds with an HTML5 game engine, got some nice sprite sheets out of these :) I should note that out-of-the-box, the lemon half's inner flesh texture, nor the serviette texture are rendered. I'm using Blender 2.74
