I've made a little game inspired on the classic Space Invaders game
and uploaded a zip file which contains several blend files:
a splash screen, a selection screen, two levels, a boss fight level
and two Game Over screens.
The entry point of the game is splash.blend
Thank you very much for the positive feedback. You can change the difficulty via the enemyLogic script. There should be a red pulsing button next to the 'yes' option in the 'You Lose' screen. It's activated by pressing the spacebar. I should have chosen a different color for the button -a red button on a red background is a bad idea-. Anyway, you could check in wireframe mode if it's there.
I am certain that there is no pulsing button next to the 'yes' option in the 'You Lose' screen.
In the blend file, there is an icosphere object sphere, which is red. I changed its colour to yellow. But it still doesn't show up.
\still, I now know that by default, the Yes option is selected. So all I have to do is press the space bar.
I managed to get through the first level. I think I should increase the number of lives LOL
Very, very nice! Bit of nostalgia for the old SI on Atari. Though in that one you only had one shot on screen so if you missed you couldn't fire again until it left the screen!
Couple of bugs on 2.73... when killed the player ship respawns below the screen and is invisible. Also the aliens glitch and relocate to above the screen when they hit the barriers sometimes. Might be a locrot key left in some action, those always caused me trouble...
Well done, I've played it several times and it works like a Space Invaders game. It's fun.
I haven't won yet LOL
On the splash screen there is a red pulsing button which moves with the left and right arrow keys, but on the You Lose screen there is no red button. So when one loses a life and the screen comes up to say You Lose - Play Again - Yes - No, what should one do to activate the Yes button? I didn't know which key to press to play again, so pressed several and eventually got back into the game.
