This is a 2x twill carbon fibre. I will upload more denominations of twill and make updates in the future. For those of you BA goers, this shader can be seen on my 2013/14 dodge viper stryker model.
That would be awesome. Please if you do feel free to share links to pictures. I worked particularly hard to get this one right. it looks better on a surface with a little more depth like car hoods, spoilers, etc.
So far I can't seem to get this texture to work on any model I have been working on. It only seems to work with the downloaded file. Good work though :)
Im sorry to hear that, I will play around with it and see if I can find the problem. It might be a packed image issue. The only thing I can think is that its not installing to your scene right. Are you linking or appending? a link should keep those images, an append might not because im not sure what it would be doing with the images. I will check what happens when I append but I highly susspect it is a linking issue. also, what version blender are you using? pre 2.64 likely will not work.
nope, appending worked just fine, also. Are you importing the material, perhaps? or just the node tree. It is important to append/link the node tree. Besides that, I am really sorry, I dont know. All seems to work on my end.
Maybe this file description has some tipps for you: http://www.blendswap.com/blends/view/75093
That blue is gorgeous I will definitely be using this soon. Thanks a ton.
So I reallllllly love this!! Check out the car and cello I used it on at marcusm00.wordpress.com
I am honored that you used my texture in your work. Great job. I am glad you liked it.
How do you want us to credit you?
P.S. EPIC TEXTURE!!
Were did you learn to texture like this?
This looks just fantastic. I'm starting a model of an RC Helicopter (Align T-Rex 550) and this is just the ticket for the CF bits (and there are quite a few). Thanks for sharing!
I might use this for a Deadmau5 head 3D model, It looks very clean! I like it! ^^
Hi, Thank you for this texture. It is nice ! In my use case, I am looking for a non coated carbon. Is there a possibility to decrease reflections? What may I play with? (sorry, I am new to blender...)
I love this but it comes out super blue in my renders. I'm using it for a lightsaber body made by a very wealthy and someone weak sith and wanted it to reflect a high end model made with some advanced material beyond normal metals.
Looks good! Thanks for sharing! Might just use it on a 3D model of an RC model plane...
