These are some grass and rock shaders for cycles that i spent a couple of days getting right. I think i have done a good job and i hope you like them as well.
hi they were not included but now they are, i forgot to pack them :/ even though it says "PACK YOUR BLEND" haha but now the size has almost doubled. it a big size due to having 3 particle systems with a lot of particles in each one. plus all the textures
Yes, well here's something that isn't common knowledge (to say the least) and some explaining to do then..
You see, Blender stores the particle-data as soon as they are generated, which is when you render them, or display them in the viewport. It's much like a renderresult in the UVeditor-viewport: blender keeps the data, even if you disconnect from the datablock.
However, UNLIKE a renderresult, blender also pack's the particle-data when you save the blend-file. Now this is a blistering nuisance, because these are HUGE, and what's more, they can be regenerated in split-seconds anyway, so why save the stuff... Maybe you can disable this somewhere, I wouldn't know, but there's a trick to get around it. Here's what you do:
A) Make sure all particle-systems are enabled in the viewport, blender is storing these data now.
B) Go to the particlesystem-settings and set the emission-number of each system to zero, blender is still storing these data, but now there aren't any.....
C) Go to modifiers and disable all particle-systems in the viewport by clicking on the little eye-icon. From now on, don't re-enable or render before you save.
D) Back to the particlesystem-settings and reset the emission-numbers to their proper values, blender is NOT storing this, because we're not using the systems, nothing get's generated yet...
E) Save the blend, and check on the filesize to see if it worked...
If I estimate correct this should reduce the size of your blend to about 25MB. ( 23MB for textures plus 2)...
Cherio... :)
I apologise but as this was my first blend uploaded here I forgot to pack the textures so i have now uploaded one with the textures used
It's all good, I've done it to from time to time. Still a great job regardless.
really good and amazin stuff!! but one problem is they arent any good for games..... low poly rocks are so hard to make realistic, but i WILL find a way!!!!
Hi, awesome models. Had a bit too high subdiv on them so had to reduce. Used here: http://paintevil.deviantart.com/art/Perch-525725938
Texture included or not
