Hola amigos! Saludos y happy blending. JUAN IGNACIO

Hello friends! You can use this model with low poly settings for games as well as high poly for still images. It has an unapplied multiresolution modifier. There is some sculpting done, only visible with multiresolution level 3 If you use it with low poly settings, you may have to tweak the normal textures a little with the texture paiting, due to some artifacts generating black spots with the wrong ilumination. It's completely rigged and the armature is in the layer 2. There is some problems with the fingers but, overall, it's ok. I'd be gratefull if you send me a link of your job if you use this model, just to see your compositions. Please, give me credit for my job if you use this .blend file. Greetings and happy blending. JUAN IGNACIO
/// I think I packed all the textures. If not, please notify me and I'll upload them immediately.
//UPDATE/// I fixed at least three bone problems such as bone roll and parents. Also added the main control so you can move the model all over the scene.
///UPDATE 2/// Helmet controls added. Model resized to real scale. Shoulder logos now deform with the armature but still hace some problems Minor tweaks on normal maps and topology.
About that, i have an indie game in the making, can i use this rig? I will give you credit?
You can use it. Don't forget to send me some link where i can find your job or the Work In Progress.
There's no rush! No problem! :) I'm only asking for a vimeo/youtube video just to see how awesome you are! :P
Looks great, but I have a weird problem with the white part of the visor. Its showing up as just a bunch of white circles in a grid, with the mirrored visor visible underneath. Any idea how to fix it?
Edit: And when I move him, his arms get all wavy
i don't find any problem with the visor texture, if it's the texture what you are talking about, and if you want to move the astronaut don't grab the mesh... move it with the armature in the layer 2.
Thanks, grabbing from the armature worked. And as for the visor, the problem seems to only exist in the Linux version of blender so Ive gone back to Windows for now. I'm not sure why the linux one isnt working correctly, but as long as it works under Windows...
I can not move his legs and arms. So the bones. What can I do?
Thx for answers!
I left the bones of the astronaut ready to be controled by the IK bones. To use the FK bones adjust the influence of the bottom or second constraint attached to the bone. Notify me if the problem persists.
You can always use this model for anything you want, if you give me some credit for the creation of this .blend. I would like you to send me a link or so, just to see how awesome you are and how outstanding your work is gonna be.
I cant import textures in Unity. Even I tried the .FBX export from Blender!
Hello! Sorry but i don't know anything about Unity. In the other hand, you can extract the textures out of the .blend and then, in Unity, import those textures... I guess.
Thanks for this great model. I am unable to use the rig properly in blender 2.72. Is it something I'm doing wrong?
What exactly is the problem? There are many ways for a rig to work unproperly Maybe it's the pivot point set in "cursor". Change it to "Median point" for a correct (actually "usual") behavour. Feel free to send me a message whatever problem you encounter.
That was exactly the problem. Setting the pivot point to median fixed it. Thanks a lot!
This is Very cool! oh yeah and i'm making a film about an astronaut , i was wondering if i could use it? Full credits to you of course.
I want to see how awesome you are so you can use it as you like! Be awesome, create some awesomeness and awesomely notify me when you finish your awesome film!
yeah i just made a high poly satellite for it sorry i have been very busy.

I'm making a short movie and i'm using your model but yes surely ill give the credit
Hello jgilhutton, Thank you very much for your outstanding model, I utilized it in my film Out of this World. It was a major piece and your work is a big part of making my project a reality. Keep up the great work!
Sincerely, AO
Please, use it. Don't forget to give me the link to your job so I can check it out, and get amazed of how awesome you are. jgilhutton
Dear jgilhutton, I've used your fantastic suit in a short trailer for my Studio. You can watch it here. Thank you, you've saved me a lot of hours of work!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNj9wQmQSlw
I've already seen it. It's very nice to see people doing things with this model. Keep doing a good job and good luck with your studio. Juan
Sir, I have been working on a game that is solely about the moon and the exploration of said moon. I have worked for about 3 months on this game and I will be sure to send to the IPR of the game. I love this model that you created and I would love to use it. I will make sure you get credit for this wonderful creation.
Beautiful model! We are using Astronauta for our game. However, we ran into an issue when trying to apply animations to it in Unity. I understand you didn't make it with Unity in mind, but I noticed that there is a bone (labeled as "Bone") that protrudes from the spine, causing the model to not be in the correct T-pose required for the animation (MechAnim).
Another issue we noticed is that the metarig is composed of bone, causing some issues with the animation as well. Is this intended? Would it be possible to fix these issues? I'd like to submit a picture illustrating what the problem is via email if possible. I'd really appreciate if you could get in touch with me. Thank you so much!
This is amazing! I created some concept art from ur perfect design! I will definitely credit you :)
Hey, jgilhutton, this is an amazing model! I was just curious about something - I noticed that MisterOid made a BGE test blend with this model: http://www.blendswap.com/blends/view/82876 It does look like he may have possibly edited the model some, but he released it under CC0, not CC-BY. Did you give him permission to release it under Public Domain? If not, would you be willing to? Thanks
Thanks Juan. I used the model in one of my videos here:
https://youtu.be/6kOJhWA0Co0
Thanks for sharing.
I subbed, nice videos. How did you get the arms to move? Pose mode allows some controls to work, but not his arms
I am having trouble when I download the file. It comes out as an html file so I can't unzip it and I can't open it on blender. When I click on it it tries to open up on a browser. Is there something wrong with the file?
Hello, thank you for your model. I used it in my personal project - https://www.behance.net/gallery/66806527/Houdini-terrain-practice i pasted link to this page in my project
Hi, I'm currently developing a Space Sandbox game and I just wanted to as you, if I could use your astronaut model for previewing purposes. Best regards, GermanTrekkie
Hola!
Saludos!
This is great! I used it in a short music video at: https://www.dropbox.com/s/p7q6x6k94qlupay/Dancing%20Astronaut%202%20%282018%29.mkv?dl=0
Thanks!
Thank you so much for this beautiful model. I made it a star in my band's first video clip:
https://youtu.be/bNFPyh5qu3M
hope you like it of course i gave credit in the description below and thank you again for making my dream a reality. I am eternally grateful :)
can I use this model in my logo animation? I will give credit. please respond fast
Gracias
Thanks for your model, I made an animation with it, the model is on 03:42 and 04:31 https://youtu.be/1nK3lNUzPCs
Check out my instagram @RealSunDanceKid i made a dope render, and used your model as well!!!
Can be seen as a hologram now ;-)

I have used this model for creating a small demo to test the AR headset I am building in my own company MagosIT Kft in my hometown, Hungary.
Of course properly always naming the source material properly and that it was originally from here despite I made necessary changes to the model to be able to run smooth on my Holographic device ;-)
Used your model in my latest piece, hope you like it :) https://www.reddit.com/r/blender/comments/fjtt58/lost_cosmonaut_rendered_in_cycles/
I used this on my CGBoost challenge submission: https://cgboost.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Jhon-Banjo-Panesa_final.jpg
I encountered some topology issues around the sides of the waist. Part of the shape was pointing and extending outwards. I does go away with lower multires values but since I need the high res version, I just adjusted the mesh. It didnt fix it but it was less noticeable.
Unfortunately, I'm having trouble uploading the correct file to BlendSwap. I guess the upload system is messed up. I'll get it online as soon as I can send the file. It's a sculpting issue. All you have to do is set the multiresolution modifier to a high level, then go into sculpt mode and smooth those vertices out.
The file I downloaded has some issues. one vertex is getting stretched but when I enter edit mode, its in its place. And the report link is not working. Edit. Thanks for the reply. But I some how fixed it myself. I made a video on that on https://www.instagram.com/p/CCdyteMHY86/ Thanks a lot.
Oohh it does that at high multiresolution values. I will fix it asap

I used your wonderful model! thank you! https://www.instagram.com/p/CCmqjHWnYHR/
Amazing model! Did you fix the "high multiresolution values" error? I'm having the same problem where the vertex is stretched on Object Mode but on Edit Mode its in place.

Hello friend!I'm here with a question. You said that you'll like to credit you.Ok, but what does that mean?To put you're name under the character, for example, or simply to give you a part of the money we earn?(another ex).
p.s. Sorry for the english, I'm not from england or U.S.A p.s2. I am new in the domain, so I'm not familliar with all these credits and copyrights, that's why I'm asking, just to be sure =)
Hey Andrei! "To give credit" means that, lets say you are making a video and you downloaded a third party chair 3D model, you have to mention the user that created that 3D model in the description of the video. That way, the 3D artists get acknowledgment for their work and keeps the community healthy. If you want to read more about the CC licences i recommend you visit therir website. And just to make it clear, there is no need to give me money for anything. Just make sure that, if your want to make a profit with third party 3D models, the licece must not be CC-NC (non commercial).
Thanks jgihutton for help!If I'll be able to finish my project, you'll be the first that we'll know!
Great model. I used it here -https://youtu.be/fdIzPtgTNFo. Thanks for sharing
If you make modifications to the model or try to pose it in a certain way, make sure you check de simplify option in the scene properties menu. Google "Blender simplify subdivision". There's also the option to disable the multiresolution modifier in the suit modifier menu
check the simplify option in render setting and set the viewport to 0 and reset it to either 2 or 3 . the model was made in blender 2.6 so it has some bug using in 2.8
thanks a lot buddy for the model and rig.it would have taken me so much time to do it from scratch to model and rig this dude with such good textures .Thanks a lot !
you are welcome. Send me a link to whatever you make with this model. I like to see what people come up with it.
Well done! I just removed the multires modifier to get rid of the clipping problem on the left side of the suit (Blender 2.93 here). That also did the trick. Excellent work!
Thank you so much. I used this model in my work. I hope you like it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18LCcXq4zQY
bro textures arent coming i m frustrated from like a month the texture arent there in a fbx mesh and i cant export with textures
Textures are packed into the .blend file and Blender does not embed the textures into the fbx file while exporting. In order for you to use them in another software, you have to unpack the images by going to File->External Data->Unpack All Into Files. You'll have all files in a folder of your preference ready to use
Nevermind, remove the multires modifier, it makes the glitch go away and blender run smooth.
Huge thanks for this model, I used it in my CGI short sci-fi: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9GvaZnwwrE
You have done a fantastic job on this. Thanks so much for making it! I just downloaded it.
Looks freakingly good!! You have done a fantastic job mate. I cannot thank you enough. Because of this only I was able to finish my Project.
Project link: https://youtu.be/uSfrdk-zRmM
Thanks! I used the character as a avatar in a augmented reality animation https://youtu.be/D09gUlUCljI
If you have a "spike" or something jutting out from the model, just reduce the multires modifier to 1, you can use it at 2 but there will be a small spike.
Im still new to rigging but why are there empty arrows near the feet and hands which don't control anything.
These bones on the left don't seem to be connected to anything? https://i.imgur.com/rm8xQ3y.png
Hello there! It's great to see this astronaut EMU suit model available for use, whether in low-poly or multiresolution form. Thanks for mentioning the sculpting details at level 3 on multiresolution. The rigging is a fantastic addition, and I appreciate the heads up about the finger bone positioning. I'll definitely credit you if I use this model and share my work with you. It's amazing how 3D modeling can be a gateway to various creative avenues; who knows, it might even inspire someone to become a travel planner, designing space-themed adventures for future astronauts. Keep up the excellent work, Juan Ignacio! Source: [Include the source link here, if applicable].
This is a great read! I look wu wear forward to reading more from you.
Really sweet.
