Description:

Mario Kart 8 was recently released giving me inspiration to create my first Blender scene project. Hope you enjoy a look inside Mario's garage at his new kart and I'd love to see what you do with it! All images rendered in cycles. Check out my Blender Artists thread here: http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?341392-Inside-Mario-s-Garage

You can alter it and use it for whatever you like! If the changed version is put online or used for commercial use then I'd really appreciate it if you could give me credit. Thanks.

Can I know how did you got SO CLEAR results and some dust on coins and air?

By so clear I presume that you mean the lack of noise and fireflies. The main way to reduce these is to increase the amount of samples. For this project I think that i used around 600 samples on each image.

For the coins I used an unpolished gold texture, this thread and a post by the member Little-me shows you how to make the gold material with speckles.

As for the dust particles in the air on I used two methods. For the front view of the kart I used a particle overlay similar to this: https://38.media.tumblr.com/33654088b4ee9bd37c09d7cc9985ab10/tumblr_n8p8b8e5VX1sgfoz6o1_1280.jpg and in photoshop put it over my render and set the blending mode to screen. In the rear view render I used the blender particle system to fill a cuboid with tiny icospheres. Both this and the depth of field help to create the dust particle look.

Hope this helps and thanks for checking out the blend!

My question is how you managed to get such crystal-clear outcomes while still having some trace amounts of dust on the coins and in the air. wordle today
