Description:

Fantasy Weapon Flame of Justice

This is a blade made in Blender 2.71, using cycles for flame texture animation. Fire from this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xH0O4bMalhg The animation will only work in 2.71. in other versions it is a flame shaped blade with textures, all free to use as you wish. I did spend a bit of time attempting to get the flame looking OK. I was happy with the out come for the stills, but The animation needs more movement. There is still much room to tweak it though. As it is the flame seems to have noticeable movement at the top, it can still use work. To change where the flames emit from: select Blade the object, then under physics go to smoke flow advanced, change the vertex group to the one you want. There are 4 vertex groups the whole thing is, “Blade”, here it is all flames. “Blade edge” will select flame for the sharpened edges of the blade. Next “very edge blade” will have flame on just the edge of the sharp part. Select “flame” and it is the least flames in the top area of the blade. While I did include the smoke in the shader I do not have it selected in the flow, only fire, if you want smoke select fire+smoke in the flow. I rendered the animation in PNG, this way if I have to stop the rendering or a crash, I can continue from were I stopped. But if I render strait to video, I have to start over if it stops or there is a crash.

This is a short clip, http://www.pasteall.org/pic/76059

if you rename this file extension to from jpg to ogv, it is a short video showing fire in 2.71.

Hope some one finds a use for it. Please give feed back, if you have time.

Happy blending all :)
