This is a script that I wrote a while back, and has not been tested on the latest version of blender. It is intended as a way to debug a specific Sculptris import error, specifically:
"Too many triangles connected to an edge(max 23)"
The "Too many triangles connected to an edge" can be solved by selecting "non-manifold" edges in edit mode, but the vertex problem was vexing enough to write this script.
It's...not a well written script. It has no gui. Run it in Blender's built in python interpreter, with your mesh in question selected, and it should switch to edit mode with the offending vertexes selected.
OMG Thank you sooooo Much!! I love texturing my models in sculptris and it has been such a pain trying to figure out how to fix this issue. It works great :) I'm using blender version 2.76
install scripts, import your mesh, go to edit, unselect everything, go to select non-manifold and then delete verts. do this once!! then select all of your mesh and hit F to fill in the holes, repeat till you don't select anything else. then export and bring back into sculptris :)
Thank you again for this :) you just made my day!! Lila
