My father and I built this model aircraft engine between 1954-56 when I was at technical college. The housing was cast at college and the rest of the work done at home. I first modeled the engine in Rhino 1.1 Evaluation and animated it in Power Point some 15 years ago. After seeing Randy-Revolts tutorial on Rigging a piston and crank in Blender I decided to have a go at it in Blender. It was modeled in the local library as I do not have a computer at home. By the way I am 74 years of age and use Free portable software to try and keep my mind active. PS: Any tutorials out there on rigging a V-Engine. No smart comments please.
Hi, johnygoddard. I think that I recommnded you to download the http://www.blendswap.com/blends/view/67327 and take a look at it. Your V engine coulbe animated using the same set of constraints. The only thing different would be to change the rotation of the cylinders and work with local orientation. I'm going to make a try and by private message tell you how to manage a V-engine animated. BTW: I'm not 74 but I'm almost there and use Blender to keep neurons working overtime. ;)
