Description:

The AIM-9 Sidewinder is a heat seeking, air launched, air intercept missile. The Sidewinder has gone through many iterations of changes and improvements. The AIM-9B, E, and J were employed extensively during the Viet Nam War by the USAF and USN on many aircraft platforms including the F-4 Phantom.
