I saw a picture on the internet of "The Church of the Light" and liked it. I robbed the basic idea and came up with something more "oldie worldie". The pews are not my model they are by an artist called polygonesrus and are available here on Blendswap - http://www.blendswap.com/blends/view/49395The modeling is very simple, the materials & textures are very simple, but the lighting was a big headache. I think it's not bad now though. Anyway I hope you like it. And if some render-wizard out there would like to optimise the setting for me I'd very much like to see them please, thanks.
Cheers, Wig
PS. In the second image, I agdded the lens flare in GIMP
Wig42, thanks! I just had a look at your blends, you've got a very nice collection!
I opened up the blend and like your work. Unfortunately my nvidia card crashes if I try to put your blend into rendered view mode. After 2 tries I gave up. Can you recommend a good volumetrics tutorial for cycles?
Fabulous Looking Design!!! Thank you for sharing your craft with the world...
Nicely done! The shape of the arches reminded me of a church window I photographed in France a few years ago, so I downloaded your blend and did some remodeling and UV-unwrapping. I discovered that volumetric lighting isn't easy to control. Eventually I used a sun light source and made my stained glass texture into a transparent BSDF (wow, that renders slow on my PC (lousy GPU, so CPU only) This was the result : Hope you like it. Kind regards, Johan
