--The scene you will download will only contain a sphere and the material--
This is a shader i made in the cycles material node editor, ive tryed to make it as user friendly as possible. The shader workes of two textures, one surface bump texture which adds a subtle bump to the surface of the object and a cavity map which tells the shader where the cavities are. the shader uses this cavity map to create a mask to control the diffuse so that you can have a diffrent colour for the cavity areas then you have for the surface areas. the first use i had for this shader was to make objects look eroded, hence the name, but i found that it was very easie to make the shader do something else. A cartoon planet, or even a cow. whats also great is that you can change the texture inputs to create difrent displasment maps or diffuse maps. So as you can tell this shader is very versitile. ive exposed all the nessasery inputs that you will ned to edit the shader but feel free to look in all the groups and things, the shader is nothing to complexe but workes very well and i hope you enjoy it and learn somthing from it. also if you use it in your scene be sure to post an image below. thanks
