The Gloster Meteor was the first British jet fighter and the Allies' first operational jet aircraft during the Second World War. The Meteor's development was heavily reliant on its ground-breaking turbojet engines, pioneered by Sir Frank Whittle and his company, Power Jets Ltd. Development of the aircraft itself began in 1940, although work on the engines had been under way since 1936. (Source Wikipedia)
Nice airplane model ! thanks for sharing this, it's amazing when you thing about how long ago it was designed .
Thx solarforge.
Yes it was amazing for its time. But even if it's hard to admit, the Me 262 was much more modern at the same time. http://www.blendswap.com/blends/view/66961
Most modern engines, wings in arrows etc ... :)

I have liked this airplane for a long time for its unique looks. It has the "Cool Old Airplane" feel but is powered by a turbojet. Thanks for the upload!
