Procedurally generated wood material using noise and checker texture.
The wood node is plugged into an implementation of PBR shading in this blend file.

Looks really good :) I have just one big problem. Any other object shape than square deforms plank structure proportion. (All rectangles in screen are Scale=1 and were adjusted in edit mode.) Thank you for more info. Node structure is too complex for me :) https://www.dropbox.com/s/id6ewm4ef0ain1x/Screen%20Shot%202016-01-27%20at%2014.08.32%20copy.jpg?dl=0
You can fix it by plugging the UV output from the Texture Coordinate Node into the Vector input of the Checker Texture Node and UV unwrapping your object. Look at this screenshot
Wouldn't it to be better to plugged it by default? Or isn't also better to use "Object" coordinates? Material is suppose to be a floor in most cases so it's easier to work with and you have materials cross-section with this coord. Anyway thank you very much for material and help :)
Great! Thanks for sharing... One question: Is it possible to change color? Regards Carmelo
Hi there!
I love this texture. I am having trouble using it to wrap around a cube though. Do you think you could fix it?

I fixed it. I followed the instructions from an above post. Maybe you should post the updated texture? :)
Hey, I have trouble rendering the wood grain in the floor material. I have followed your video and tried setting it up myself and then with your material. But as I said I can't get it working.
Please help.
As someone who has spent hours trying to make convincing wood, I think this looks wonderful!!
