I love a great rig and this is just delightful. A great model to learn from. Thanks for the share :D
Hey, im a 17 year old aspiring rigger/modeler, I saw your motorcycle model and rig, and i was really impressed. I actually made a car version of it, but a lot less skillfully and less detailed. can you take a look, and maybe use it for one of your own products or projects? it would make me proud to see an expert use my creation and improve on it. A lot of the features in your video actually made it onto my rig, but it seems like you figured out how to fix some problems i ran into like how to make the body move up with the wheels. if you could look at it and make it better, that would be great. thank you, and i love your work!
Wow, just epic ! :o How many time you took in order to create this please ?
Thank you, guys! I'm glad you like it. It took me almost 3 years (!) to complete this project, so at times I just hated this motorcycle (though I didn't spent all that time on this project alone). But at the end of the day almost all I know in CG now (not that I know much, I have many things to learn yet) I learned through this project: modelling, UV-unwrapping, texturing, shading, rigging, lighting, postprocessing, you name it.
so at times I just hated this motorcycle ... lol ^^ I know what you mean here and can undestand this ... issue. And that's an amazing work, thank you for sharing !
Wow! From time to time someone puts a AAA model on Blendswap - for free!! :-0 thanks a lot!
Very impressive rig, however when keyframe animating forward and then turning the bike around and then moving forward again, the wheel rotation acts weird on playback, almost as if it does not know in which direction to rotate.
Yeah... there is such an issue. It's due to how I implemented wheels autorotation: it depends on the main bone (root bone) Y location, so it works only if you move the rig roughly in Y direction. For example, try to rotate the rig 90 deg. along the Z-axis and then to move it in "new" forward direction (that is X-axis): autorotation will not work at all.
You can check drivers for autorotation yourself (who knows, maybe you'll be able to implement something better): the bones are called "wheel(Front/Rear)RotAuto" on the 7th armatures layer.
Congrats Timo! This looks great. Your rig is wonderful! One of the best I've seen.
Wow, that's is a fantastic rig right there. I love it. i would love to know how you rigged the auto engine on?
I'll post again (in case you haven't noticed the link in my previous reply), it's already in progress at blenderartists.org, join the discussion.
Great model and material setup. Thanks for sharing! Here are my renders in OctaneRender engine: https://www.behance.net/gallery/46281361/Harley-Davidson-XR1200x
This is amazing. Tyvm for posting such a great work for us to learn from!
Hey pics look amazing, but we cant download it. keeps going to 404 error page...
Sorry, guys( I don't know what happened. I tried to reupload blend file, but it seems nothing changed. I contacted the Blendswap team regarding the error, but still no answer.
Seems all working again! No more 404 error)) By the way if you want this model with rig, you can buy it here:

Hello. I don't know how to enable the rigging. I open the blend project but I can only see the model, no rigging
Fantastic model, great detail.
