An armchair and a footstool based on Ikea's armchair 'Stocksund'. Messy procedural texture.
No, they are decimated from higher resolution cloth simulation. Is there a reason to have nice topology in models like that?
Well...I'd say you should ALWAYS try for nice topology!
That said, I'd love to see how you did the cloth sims for those. I was thinking you sculpted it. Do you exclude the seams from the sim and tweak the settings until you get nice wrinkles?
I just tried to do nice topology. Doesn't work for me. It ends up needing a lot more polygons than this messy decimated thing and I need to keep them down since I usually have a lot of stuff in the scene and I don't want to see the day when it all doesn't fit into the memory of my graphics card for rendering. I think in theory polycount slows down renders as well, in some cases I might be at the point it starts to matter. I don't know. The messy decimated stuff seems to work better for me at this time. Well, there is nothing too wrong in it. It's triangles. No non-manifold geometry or double vertices or faces or any other evil like that. I simulate it outside Blender, in Marvelous Designer, then sculpt or adjust with Blender or sometimes zBrush, or Maya - there is no order or logic in my workflow sometimes :D :D I let it be total chaos from time to time. But I try to get as close as possible with the simulation, then fix the failures with sculpting or proportional editing/soft selection. It's a pity I cannot go too crazy with artistic exaggeration, since it has to match real furniture :/.
Ah,Marvelous Designer. Ok. I was wondering how you got Blender's cloth sim to work so nicely!
Love this chair, very well made. I especially like your node group "AcompleteMess," name suits it well - in a good way I mean :) You've gotten me to check out Marvelous Designer, i'd love to be able to make cloth like that.
Thanks! :D . Marvelous designer is really enjoyable to work with. Definitely give it a go if you can. It's a lot easier and much more fun than it seems at first.
amazing, thank you very much! can't wait to be at this level and share models with you all!
Amazing work, I have been using blend swap for a a while, and you are by far my favorite artist keep doing the amazing work, and thank you!!
I'm thrilled and grateful! I look forward to seeing your progress geometry dash 23 and collaborating with you in sharing models.
Simple but highly applicable design, widely used for capybara clicker
I cannot begin to express the extent to which your thoughtfulness and concern have impacted me. I am grateful for your unwavering source of inspiration. play capybara clicker game
Cookie Clicker is an endless journey of cookie production, where clicking and strategic upgrades unlock a world of baking possibilities.
Your models look nice, but why is the topology so crazy? Are they made from 3d scans with the poly count reduced or something?
