An assortment of brushes I made in Blender based on a few that I saw in Krita, and a few that were just ideas after experimenting with procedural textures as brushes and brush masks.
woah thanks, wish I could find a nice tutorial on making some of my own.
You can examine the ones included and see how they were arrived at, but the main thing to look at is that with some things, a brush mask is better than a brush in the texture sense, and combination of the two is even better still. You can use a procedural texture like clouds with a color ramp set to limit and reverse the effect, and then set that to Tiled. IN Options tab, you can set that to draw the brush mask in the view, and adjust the size and offsets. Then, add an image as a brush and choose Stencil for its mapping, and then move it about and paint with that - and the areas where the brush mask draw, your brush doesn't. Pretty cool way to get wear and chips. If you feel so inclined, you can also use a black and white image as a Mask layer in the texture slots, name it in the Mask tool, and then you can paint all that with the new layer mask affecting your paint as well. On the mask tool:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QD-JZdORPEY I have other vids on my channel, but I have been told I need to rework the audio because of gross nasal noises and breathing, so turn it down or off
You are welcome!! I plan on making a set of brushes in a master container like a library of sorts that can be brought in by appending a single object that holds all the brush/mask textures in material so they can be preset with keyframes.
Hmm, that's a really cool idea! But it might be even cooler if you make a custom "add on" so that it just has all of textures/brushes in a single file and then the user is able to import (using a custom panel) only the texture/brushes he needs for a specific project. That way if he wants to "pack" the .blend file he can do so without having to have a bunch of unused textures.
Just an idea : D
P.S Love this blend!

Thanks.
