A clump of bamboo stalks for the Blender Durian Sprint. These are all linked to one mesh. I failed to create variations, but some simple duplication, scaling and a mixed color on the mats will do. All textures are procedural.
Notes:
Emit .001 set on the three bamboo textures, as a GI cheat.
This has subsurf set, but with the way that the stalks are set up, this doesn't seem to be helping the stalks go from hexagons to dodecagons.
This has SSS set, which really helps with the organic look of the material, even with error bumped up to .2
Ray shadows on the key light are set to 4 sample, so they're pretty gritty, but this takes like 10 minutes to render at 1080p on my dual-core box so meh.
The stalks to the leaves could use some UVmap work.
