15k verts for shoes will not work well in a game. Just so you know.

Sorry to hear that I am new to game design will try to lower the poly count more when I finish the full model. Do you have a suggestion for a target count for game models.

No problem at all! Getting a low poly mesh with a nice looking design is very tough. The trick is using Normal maps to define detail, because no one actually gets that close to your mesh. In a CGI environment, you can afford to have high detail stuff, in a game its (usually) impossible for the player to get close to a persons boot. Those gears, those screws, those details you bake into a map and use them as a texture instead. By baking the map and adding shadows you can cut down on polycount insanely.

Im currently recruiting for our Upcoming Indie Game "The Squad". I sort through sites like BlendSwap, SketchFab, and DeviantArt trying to find potentially skilled artists who would like to work with us in designing a hit indie game. If your interested send me a conversation message!
