This is a hi-poly model of Old 119, one of the trains that completed the transcontinental railroad. I would hope that someone can animate it in 3D. Stereoscopy is turned on in the blend file.
Your comments are appreciated. A couple of notes though, are warranted. First the model was based on a photo of the train that had been restored. You can google it. There were white wheels on the restored train, so although it may not be historically accurate, it was what I had to work on. As for the brass, it was also on the restored train.
Do you think you could import it into trainz a new era? That would be nice! Great model!
I'm not only an avid historian, but I'm obsessed with historic details and/or descriptions.
Your modeling looks good except that the person in the cab seems too big for the space. But maybe the cab floor is much lower than I think.
Also, the textures look to band new. I'm not a train expert, but I doubt there was that much brass on those old trains. And there was definitely no white on the wheels. And the lighting seems a bit odd as well as the locomotive is in bright light but the rest of the scene seems to be at night.
Oddly, the cab seems to have some texturing on it but the rest of the locomotive does not.
Anyway, the modeling seems good. But I think it would help your downloads if the texturing was up to the same stander as your modeling.
