Here is a free download of my fantasy glowing sword, as seen in my recent "Cute but Dangerous" artwork for the weekly CG challenge. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/z0xxd
This is for Cycles, and contains some node setups and textures to achieve the glowing effect. It also contains a simple particle system.
Disclaimer: Any similarities to existing fantasy swords (ie: Riven, Final Fantasy) is completely coincidental. I designed this myself, I've never played Riven or Final Fantasy, and frankly I don't follow those games at all.
