Description:

I've finally made my first gun model. It's a small .357 magnum revolver called Rhino. Main parent object that allows to rotate whole barrel is called connector, i've made object group for it so it's easy to find.

Metal materials that i've used are available here: http://www.blendswap.com/blends/view/69793

Wood material was posted here: http://www.blendswap.com/blends/view/68707

And the floor material can be found here: http://www.blendswap.com/blends/view/67684

I don't know exactlly why, but there's something wrong with this wooden gun handle, preview shows light and dark wood pattern, but there's only one colour on rendered pictures. If anyone knows what went wrong i'll be grateful for an advice.

Of course there are some small mistakes that i've made during modelling, but i didn't have the time to repair them :/

Anyway i hope you'll find that pretty gun usefull.

I've set licence to FanArt, because it's a actually existing product from Chaiapa company.

I've picked this gun cause i'm currently making a sexy fetish female cop girl character...from the future, and that one looks like something she'd like to use, among other accesories :)

Maybe i'll post all Rhino models, main differnce between them lays in barrel shape and lenght. But it takes about 10-12hrs to render one frame on my lousy hardware, so it might take a while :)

    Damn, i'm so stupid :D

To get a proper look of that handle wood you must unwrap it first :D

Real-World items of a utilitarian nature, even if they contain elements of artistic design, do not fall under copyright. If an entity wishes to protect them they must obtain a patent.

This revolver is such a utilitarian object (a gun), denoting it as fan art is improper.

    (Yes I am a lawyer).

(The company can, and likely has, trademarked the trade names it is using ofcourse. But we are speaking of your 3d shape you have uploaded) (Design patents also exist (they were the first patents granted, infact), such patents can protect the design of consumer products such as toys, wallpaper designs, and other such creations), such does not fall under Copyright law, however which is what is at issue here)

Ok, i'm not a lawyer, and i'm not familiar with copyright laws, so you're probably right about that. I'm pretty sure that rules that you've mentioned apply to things like AK-47 or M-16, but what we have here is a specific gun that's sold under company name. I have found its detailed pictures at a company site and made 3d model out of those designs, well, almost 100% of it. Blendswap rules states that if design wasn't mine then i should post it as a fanart. But you're probably right and i'm not. I'm just a humble blender user :)
