Description:

Animated Bicycle Wheel - made with Blender v2.76

The wheel is modeled from basic shapes. The materials colours are all generated from the colour wheel. The path providing direction for my animation is a combination of something called Fibonacci numbers and the Golden Spiral. (both already known to be cosmic sweet spots)

To make my video of the animated wheel I rendered first in separate images. These I re-assembled into a video format. This gave me frame by frame control which control I did require. I rendered sections of the path, changing the axis as required to render the rotation in the proper direction. Some of us will remember the old western movies where the stagecoach wheels looked like they were running backwards. The initial render was like this with the wheel rotating in the wrong direction for half the spiral circle.

The axis can be changed with the Rotorbone selected. In the properties window, under bone constraints, the XYZ axis' can be adjusted to get the desired render result.

Anyone wishing to see the video, it is on youtube https://www.youtube.com/edit?video_id=1DkpURGYNfg
