Description:

Alright, so this is Xeres, and he liget took me all day. I will say, I sort of messed up on the head, so feel very free to edit it, cose I wouldn't blame you!

The mesh does not come with wings full of independent feathers, I modeled the owl in a way so that everything is merged to everything. This way works a thousand times better when drawing textures onto the model.

He also comes with an armature, but I had to eye ball most of the right side because I dont know how to "mirror" the left side to the right. If you know how, pls tell me ;-;

He isnt textured, i left it for all to create something nice! And I'll say this, too; He isnt very well rigged, so It's okay to fix it if you can! I managed to pose him, so I'm sure you can too. Again, sorry if the rig isnt goo, Im not used to rigging a bird.

    To mirror an armature simply select the group of bones you want, set pivot center to the center of world ( it's like mirroring everything else), duplicate them by shift+d, then press ctrl+M and type the axis you want to use for the mirror ( x,y,z).

    Also if you use names for the bones, You should consider to end their names with .L or .R ( depending on their side) and after ( or before ) mirroring them you can quickly flip their names at armature menu. Select the bones,type W and select flip names on that pop-up menu. That way all the bones with the .L on the end will become .R bones and You'll get nice set of properly named bones ready to use :)

    Here's an example how to do that:

    The part You want to see begins at 13:10 min, but i think that this whole tutorial is worth seeing.

    Cheers!

    Many thanks to you, mate!!

    I learned to put cursor at center, and duplicate the bones, then press Ctrl+M then X then -1. and thanks for the W method I didn't realize that was there!

    Trust me, there's always something new that will make you amazed when it comes to blender :) If you're a beginner you should really consider wathing tutorials: BlenderGuru, Darrin Lile, CG Cookie Blender, Blender Britt...there's a youtube watchlist that could last for 20 years :) Sometimes tutorial can last for couple hours but it's time worth spending :) Keep it up, cheers!
