    What happened to the pretty tight review of blends to keep the standard somewhat high? This looks pretty useless for other people to be completely honest. :(

    No need to be sorry, you'll get better with more practice. I'm new to it too, and have had a few models rejected from upload here - which after improving I'm very happy they did get rejected. As far as I'm concerned blendswap is more useful as a site to share blends that are of high quality - even simple ones. Your model is a great start for your own learning and I'm sure there are good places online to get critique of it, but it doesn't look like something that would be useful for other people to use.
