Thanks! I ran into the same issue with the M249para: had to do it myself for the version I wanted. Ofcourse 4chan just tells me it's garbage, like anything.
Glad you like it. I try to use enough polys for detail, but not too many that it can't be used in the game (which it's for). For some details texture could be used instead of geometry+materials, but the game has over 200 weapons so using a custom 2k texture per-weapon uses up all available vram on many computers, so I go with materials (in the game engine)+enough geometry. That way the game doesn't crash for lack of ram, and everything can be loaded into vram.
