Description:

Here is a new SMG that I've made in blender, I'm glad to share it with you. I especially want to thank the person that asked for this weapon (He'll recognize him or herself).

So it's a weapon that fires .45 ACP bullet, mostly used by law enforcement troops in manifold countries.

This mod is untextured and the most detailed that I can do with the reference images that I've found.

Enjoy, comment and ask for more weapon

Milan

Nice! Perhaps I'll bake some normal maps off of it to use in a game or something! :)

good model but 2 things: 1: you forgot the cartridge thrower thing 2: you rely on the subsurf too much. namely on the clip and the holes on the side. you should use actual circles instead of squares with a subsurf because it makes weird stretching artefact's in the texturing and reflections

    see image(texturing still a WIP)

The pont is that I am too lazy to texture so I continue to rely on subsurf, but if you think I should model a little more accurate those detail.

PS : I think it would be extremely kind If you can post your textured version or at least send it to me so I can study It

Sure I will upload it soon.

The texturing is far from amazing all I did was make a simple, repeatable metal texture in gimp, then used smart uv project to unwrap all the objects. very simple once you know how to do it.

I will be glad if you can explain me how do you make your metal texture with gimp

Ok so in gimp I went to filter>render>clouds>fog 6 times varying the turbulence(all around 8-10 (no lower)) and colour(blacks and oranges) I made a new layer from visible, and blurred that layer with the blur tool. I then set the blend type to hard light and placed a picture of old sheet metal under it. Then I made a new layer from visible and applied the sharpen filter (filter> enhance >sharpen). Finally to make it seamless I went to filter>map>makeseamless

    hope that makes sense

p.s I up loaded the model with textures waiting on the mods

Thanks a lot for your mini-tutorial

By the way the ridge on the magazine is meant to be in plexiglas (I don't know if it is the word in english)

Mr. Chippy, that is a great texturing job! Now you have to share it! :D just don't forget to credit Milan and licensing it BY-SA, as the original model :P

Alright, I will; once uploading is back up. I uploaded an incomplete version that was never posted (probably to technical error), so if you see one from me that does not have that picture I posted don't put it up, it is the wrong one.
