Edited June 04, 2021Well,even if you had a real plan or blueprint of a satellite,you couldn't possibly know what each piece does, except the well known as antenas,fuel tanks,engine thrusts or solar panels. The other could be mechanical structures or sensors.After all we are dealing with something scifi not real. Now, as far as kitbashing method,sure i have some objects or parts ( not many and always free ),on my pc from internet.The problem with these parts is that they usually have weird topology (too many triangles,ngons) ,and subsurf modifier doesnt work well.You have to spend a lot of time to deal with these ,so no i dont use them as they are,but i get a lot ideas from them.The above scifi satellite doesn't have any.
