This is my Viper class Heavy Endo/Exo-atmospheric fighter. It is heavily inspired by the Vic Viper of the Gradius games by Konomi.
For more info and a simple turntable animation see: http://www.scifi-meshes.com/forums/showthread.php?77898-Viper-Starfighter-Based-on-Gradius-Vic-Viper&prefixid=3d
Layer 1: Main scene. Layer 2: Scratch work space. Layer 3: Sun layer. Layer 4: Engine flare layer.
There are three render layers, one with the first two layers, and the second two for the 3rd and 4th layer which applies a simple glow to the sun and engine flares.
It has animations for wing folding/unfolding as well as for landing pad raising/lowering. It also has two material animations. One turns the engines on and the other scrolls the cloud texture applied to the flares.
I'm really finding Blender's animation workflow to be a little hit and miss when it comes to actions, especially material actions as they don't show up in the action editor so it can be really hard to figure out what you are actually doing.
Thanks. Materials and texturing was by far the most time consuming part, and quite probably the least fun.
Yeah, I'm still learning how to prioritise detailing to places where it is actually noticeable.
Awesome fighter, pre-rigged. and sweet textures. what more could you want? I used it in a short film i made (had to take off the weapons though, cause it was a civvy ship) If you wanna watch the animation and check for your name in the credits, just follow this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-sjktFMOE8
Again, awesome job. keep up the good work! ~Noah Wardell
A+. Great job, especially on the materials and textures.
