This is my first gun model. It is an R700 sniper rifle. I don't know how to texture yet so there is no textures but I did material colors.

Written August 24, 2011speeling is right. look for modelling a jet tutorials and specifically the uv asignment ones. he doesnt use great textures in these tuts, but he shows exactly how to break up your model to assign n the textures you choose. he has a great way of explaining things, and shows some handy tips and shortcuts to make easier. best of luck and keep blending!!!!!

thats quite good for your first one. i'm not great at texturing but here's a good group of tutorials to learn the basics. if you go onto youtube look up blender tutorials by a guy under name weeliano. i'm not sure if ive spelled his user name prop i'll double check and put another comment with proper spelling. he's exellent at modellin but even better at explaing how to use textures and the uv mapping panel. thanks for sharing
