Description:

I have updated these camera rigs for 2.59

New Features:

-the aim control will now automatically point towards the camera

-the script to run the control panel is now an add-on so it can be installed and it stays active as long as the

here are 2 camera rigs for Blender 2.59, this is a short video to show all the controls.

http://www.vimeo.com/14691144

they are both pretty simple and all the controls you will need are in the side panel. (press n)

One is a dolly rig and the other is a crane rig - the only difference is that the crane has an adjustable arm length and height.

They are grouped so you can just append the group to a new file - however, you will need to append the python file separately as it doesn't automatically get appended in the group.

The Dolly Rig is on Layer 1, The Crane Rig is on Layer 2

They are grouped so you can just append the group to a new file

However, there is now 2 ways to activate the UI controls

you can either append the scripts from this file separately (it won't append when you import the camera group) and then run the file - "run script".

or

you can install the script as an add-on into the animation section

(this is explained in the video)

hope i'm not disrspectful, but i have some minor suggestions concerning the wire controls: -for the root delete 3 arows leave only the one that marks the front, it is all i need; at times i animate in "wired" mode for the whole (bulky)scene and there's to much wire that i don't use in that control, that gets mixedor overlap other rigs, especially if i use multiple wire-controled rigs -for all widget-control that i interact, especially the root extrude the verts so that the controls become a bit 3d- ish... my complaint is that i cant select the control if i'm an angle, like the root bone, if i'm in a sideway perspective it is hard to select the control especially if it goes below ground plain; the same for the Aim, sometime at an angle i lose the site of the control because it became a line(90 degre)... and the way I animate is in to the camera, it is obnoxious to have to change 3dView just to select a control... I made this modification on the widgets and i thought i give my 2 cents on it -eventually make the camera unselectable, and maybe do the same with the pivot bone(?) Nice rigs btw, thanks 4 your effort

i love this rig, especially with the add-on, but something is not right i work on multiple scenes in one file, i have no problem on scene 1, I appended the camera group, install the add-on, and everything is awesome, but when i re-appended in scene 2,, the add-on didn't show, how to fix this?
