A mech that I made for the open source community and just for fun. It will be used in Linwarrior 3D. http://hackcraft.de/games/linwarrior_3d/
Here's a turntable video:

I named it Thunderbird after the mythological creature.
If you want to create new camouflages, then you can simply add some procedural textures, overlay them with the "Dirt" texture, and bake them to a new image.
jordan - ".. The intent of camouflage is to disrupt an outline by merging it with the surroundings, making a target harder to spot or hit, or to confuse an observer..". Has everything to do with hiding and confusion. I never said that it makes vehicle dissapear :)
Agree about the air...but then the camo pattern must by larger to match the terrain .
Take care
So true Jordan. With modern technology you don't even have to literally see the target in order to destroy it. Camo just reduces a chance to be spotted by an eye or flying past plane.
Its scary where the world is going today...
Well its just to complete the whole think.
Take the M1 Abrams tank, it wears also camo... but he is still twice as tall as a car and weights 40-50 tons. But the camo hide's his shapes from drones and eyes. He has also a heatsystem which distort the heat of the turbine. So it's hard to catch him with headcams and so on. ;-)
By the way. The Website of those Community seems to need a little bit overhaulin' ? If they need some help, just get in connection with me.
And, by the way. Is it useful to generate a object with much higher polygons than the engine seems to handle? Do they need help to adapt their 3D-Engine?
Best regards, Ionic
Loved the design on this, i used it for a few seconds in an animation i made. If your interested in seeing it kick down a door, check out this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-sjktFMOE8
Also, be sure to look for your name in the credits! ~Noah Wardell
Wow...this is huge.
Question...how exactly camouflage will help in this situation? Its like trying to hide 8 (10) - story building...that walks..I mean this is like 15m tall? :)
Over all..cool mech.
