Advanced tilt-rotor aircraft with scene
Very nice plane! Nice texturing, decent background, fine set of details. I especially like your overall minimalist approach. There's just enough verts to make the fuselage smooth, just enough divisions to make the tires round, just enough details to make it accurate and complete, but with no excess. My 10 year-old Dell and I appreciate that a lot, as it doesn't take long to render. It's not a show plane, it's a plane usable for animations.
I'm being extremely harsh here and giving it 4 stars, only I will only give 5 stars to absolute perfection. The trees are just repetitive enough to notice and, as you note, the rigging is from 2.49. Those are minor and could be fixed easily, and in no way does that take away from a superb job.
SavageCode, Thanks, glad you liked it.
Aardvark, Yeah, I had not noticed it until you mentioned it, but I had set everything to optimize render time. A slight mirror finish works pretty well with it, but left off because of all the test renders I had been running. As for the trees, next time I'll have to create a larger texture for that. I think it is too late to change now.
A General note on textures: All the textures are my own, except for the sky texture which is a modification of one released by Wes Burke at Blendercookie.com, an excellent resource of sky maps.
I think much have been said but allow me with all due respect and honour esteem your marvelous job and commend you for your awesomeness and award you my 5 stars...
I really like it, but it would be great if the wheels did not pop out when the jet flies upside-down. But this is still such a well-made model that I am using it in my animations! Double thumbs up!
Really cool! 5 stars for you. :)
