This is my first released blend file ever. mode isn't 100% accurate. Car has interiors but it I haven't modeled bottom side of the car. Layer 1&2 has parts of car and layer 3 has some extra parts. layrer 4 has bones and layer 5 has very basic model for test animations I started this project about 2 months ago and I have worked it to that point where I'm satisfied enough to release it. I don't have time to work with this project atm. but I might release some updates on later date.
Blend file includes basic rig, textures and basic lighted scheme with the car for Cycles (as in scheer shot). saved with 2.61(rc)
If textures doesn't work you can try download cars texture package from http://dl.dropbox.com/u/39642124/challenger_textures.7z
Something this EPIC does not need to be 100% accurate. FTW DUDE!
Thank you so much for sharing your work! How many hours did you put into this? It
I think It's some where 200-300 hours what i have spent working with it. I will share when I get around to make some more.
this is pretty awesome. with the cook-Torr turned up it looks perfect.
to: JJ I don't know whys that maby you don't use cycles to render it? It should render properly with cycles.
I think I didn't include all textures to it or atleasti it looks like it when I download it so here is link to blend file which should include those: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/39642124/dodge_challenger_1970rt.7z
I love how the car plate in the front says blender instead of a state lol.
I didn't have any good modeling technique when I started to work with this. I did watch and do lot's of tutorials which were related to car's or for modelling in general. for the basic shape of the car I did match some photos and looking at references I corrected errors.
Sure you can, materials and textures are free to use without crediting (cc0). I should upload them separately so It wold be more clear.
This is such an amazing work and you've a very big talent. Keep it going. But i've a question: I was do a little changes on this car and just realized that i can't move that cars trunk and that cars bonnet It's fixed. It'll be very kind if you could tell me how to remove this fixing
I Will look into it, it might be cause I have parented them to bones. I could upload version with no bones attatched. I should rework that animation rig any way. :)
I've solved the problem. You've locked some objects location/rotation transform. My bad sorry :) Sometimes the most difficult thing can be solved by re-checking the most simpel properties. It took me 3 days to realize it lol. But anyways, Your work is fascinating. Keep it up. You've a big talent
Can you plz show me the way to apply PHYSICS on this blend via a "KEYBOARD" sensor to move the car?
GREAT but cant rotate wheels. anyone did this? I mean to rotate when driving, not left/right
Hi there, first of all EPIC model! Im try to make a render of this using Thea Render. BUt when i open the model in 2.76 its seems all wonky, as if the empty or something has been moved. Its the challenger logo003 mesh. Is this cause of the armature?? When rendered it seems to look fine though. Here's screengrab from the viewport https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2785165/wonky%20meshes_challenger%20logo003.png
Im not a hero with armatures and just understand like 1% of it :)
edit after checking there seems something wrong with the scaling in the curve for the chevy logo? cant seem to figure out why its scaled so much, any idea?
Very nice but unsuable in 2.79 wheels are distorded. Some parts of the engine run across the model. Great work but unsuable
The model is quite old and I might have used some tools/keyings that doesn't transfer well to newer blend files. I might update the model when 2.8 comes out. If I have time on my summer leave. :D
thanks, this is one of my favourite cars along with the 69 Shelby Mustang.
Thanks for you all, I hope I will get this updated to new blender 2.8 and same time fix some issues that have come up.
THIS IS BEAUT! How long did it take to model something like this? Thanks for sharing
Very nice model !
