So who doesn't like futurama?
This is bender from the animated series and I thought Bender could do with some blending so here you go!
Free model on the house.
He has a spline rig, with extendable robotic arms, but no bones for the fingers.
This was made for a single pose :P
Also he was rendered using a current build of blender with freestyle if you want to get the cartoon look :)
Includes the node setup for cartoon rendering.
Enjoy!
NOTE: I am not associated in any way with futurama, I just felt like modelling bender in blender :D
hey! awesome setup for rendering, congrats! but, could you say exactly build, just right now I m looking for cartoon setup in freestyle, but I cant get the same result in my freestyle (2.60.5 - r42025) thanks!
Hi Guys, For the eyelids There I have used an IK constraint (I think it's on another bone layer)
for the freestyle strokes, I don't think I uploaded it with the line styles :O You need a build that supports edge marks - yours does. The "Marks layer" Add a freestyle module using the parameter editor, checking select by visible and edge marks. for the freestyle layer, I used the python editor with Qi0.py module (might be in the text editor?)
Hope that helps :)
I also did a few tweaks in post processing where the lines didn't work quite right.
@JPL Just for you lol :D http://metalix.co.nz/tutorials/blender/other/rig_eyes/
Hey guys, sorry if this is a newbie question, but what is "freestyle"? I assume it's a plugin or something for Blender? I'm specifically wanting more cartoony looks for my characters, so your comment got my attention =)
'Freestyle' is a specific module that has to be compiled in blender, You can get these builds from graphicall. If you want to learn how to use freestyle I have done a couple of tutorials on it at www.metalix.co.nz :)

I'm just new in Blender, my first step was design a cup, then a glass, then water and then a bottle with some fruit soda
Your model is awesome! Could you please describe how your managed to move the eye-lids so perfectly with the b-bones?
Greetings
