This model is great, so I downloaded it to see how it is made.

But when I open it in Blender I cannot see any model anywhere.

It renders fine, so how do you access the model itself to modify it?

Hit esc, the first view that comes up is the UV/Image view you just need to esc out of that and your good to go.
