This is the .blend packed with all the textures I created for this contest. All the textures have been downsized to half of their original size in order to make the file smaller. You can find the character, rig, textures and environment all in this .blend. The entire file unzipped is 415megs. I improved the render time by 4 minutes less, all at full anti-aliasing, and made the bug work again :)

I will actually add the node and make it more like I had it previously, I just figured out I could edit it :)
Wow. That is one of the most professional models on the site. Love the sneer shape key. He bares his fangs and its all over
lol, and that's half the size of the real one I am working with :P
I can't render, it make my blender buggy and the scene is un-renderable for an animation, i can't even render a frame, in 15 min! :D with: i5 2500k 4.5GHz GTX 560 OC 16 GB RAM ???
Shaunwhite: seriously, I have a crappy AMD Phenome 64bit x6 3.2GHz with a crappy AMD HD radeaon built in 450 that doesn't even have half the power you have and I render it at 19mins (If you want faster render for animation, un-check full antialiasing, it`ll drop about half render time).
This is using Full antialiasing for image rendering for best image result at full HD 1080p. Which I think is pretty good in terms of rendering time for this sort of quality.
it's a little bit better, tacking rendertime to 6:10, but is it normal that the "preparing scene data" and "creating shadowbuffer" are taking half of the rendertime? I really want to animate it alone because it look's like a great rig and model to practice with, i just don't understand why it takes so much time to render, the model is pretty low poly for its quality, there is no ambient occlusion... higher poly scenes usually takes me only 15 sec/frame ,( including a heavy node setup). any idea on how to optimise the scene? anyway, this is one of the best upload of blenderswap, greetings!
Shawnwhite: Oh yhea, I remember why. Go to the shadow casting light and take off Halo. That's probably what is taking long in the shadow buffer. You can also decrease the shadow buffer size a bit, right now its at max.
When you have some animation of it done I would love to see it. I am myself doing an animation, but I am slow at animation. I will render mine with full rendering at 19mins/frame :P
I really like the character, however I can't download it yet. But you forgot to add the fantasycontest tag to your upload :)
Thank you :) And thank you for letting me know about the tag :S
Is there a way for me to post a video in here? Like how the scene is setup, how to change it, how to rig works, etc???
There is something wrong with my spline ik's so I am fixing it atm. Sorry about that :S
Nice rig! I should have made boneshapes for my model too :D Your rig looks much nicer. Why haven't you made an FK/IK switch for the legs too?
Thanks contmike, I did include IK/FK switch for the leg because I usually don't use FK at all for limbs, and also because the way the current leg is setup it would be a bit of a pain. I am still trying to fix that spline IK issue, and so far, no luck. I may try something else then a spline IK for the tail and tongue.
Alright, I was able to fix the Spline IK's delay problem. I simply removed the spline IKs and made fewer B-Bones with segments with each an IK. Basically faking the spline IK. It works great, better then spline IK. I will optimize the scene and re-upload. Will post a note and a new video once its all up ;)
Since this version of my Raptorian Hunter does give the look I wanted by just pressing F12 and waiting for it to render, like the contest specify, I decided that the fixed rigged file will be posted on its own, no environment nor pose or simulation cache at full resolution textures on its own. That file on its own is 407megs with textures packed. I will post here once that is uploaded.
I can't prevent myself from downloading it, there are so much things to learn with this file, in particular on the rig!
And big "BRAVO", (en fran
I am currently starting a DVD tutorial that will be sold for very cheap (5-10$)
Perhaps, if I can find a good way to do so, yes. For now, not 100% sure yet.
Beautiful. I have a question: if I download the model, or should I enter I can animate the armature for the movement? (excuse the English mo. I'm Italian)
excellent quality, can't wait to animate it. I only wish his cloth was parented and rigged.
How do I switch between IK/FK?
Please feel free to give me constructive critics ;)
If you want the image to appear more clear, just add a brightness/contrast node in the compositor and play with it until you get a final of your likeness :) Happy blending ;)
